About Dance Athlete

_

Dancers require a high level of fitness to meet the physical demands of dance. They must also develop musicality, expression and embody the desired physical aesthetic. Dance Athlete programs are designed and delivered by strength and conditioning professionals with a strong background in dance, by dancers, for dancers.
Dance Athlete programs train the physical fitness qualities required for elite dance performance. These qualities include neuromuscular control, coordination, muscular endurance, strength, power, proprioception, cardiovascular fitness, and mobility.
Fitness shouldn’t be the limiting factor in a dancer’s performance. Good stability, mobility and stamina reduces risk of injury, facilitates strong dance technique and allows the dancer to focus on artistic qualities when they perform.
For all dancers, Functional Movement Screening and Performance Testing are used to establish a baseline for the athlete and inform program prescription. Information on the dancer’s goals, experience level and their dance genre are also considered.
Dance Athlete delivers programming one-on-one or in group settings. Remote training options are also available. Dance Athlete offers holiday workshops and intensives.
